Master's Goals 2009

1) Elected and appointed officers will be present at the district meeting.
2) All officers, appointed and elected, will be present at their stations for the District Deputy Grand Master's visit.
3) Appoint a committee to implement a successful membership program emphasizing the following:
                    A. Raising new masons
                    B. Retaining and improving interest of existing members
                    C. Reinstating inactive members
4) All officers will receive a master mason certificate of proficiency before June.
5) We will maintain a positive membership growth.
6) Assign a telephone/e-mail outreach committee to remind members about meetings, special events and activities. Transportation will be arranged when needed.
7) Implement a mentoring program.
8)  Present at least 5 educational programs at stated lodge meetings.
9) Hold at least 2 family programs that include entertainment and food.
10) Continue our dinner meetings - past masters, awards and thanksgiving.
11) Honor monthly birthdays and membership anniversary dates.
12) Active membership retention committee that will make PERSONAL contact with each member who has not paid his yearly dues and make sure he is not suffering from financial or health misfortune before suspending him for nonpayment.
13) Appoint a lodge historian to discuss history of lodge on awards/anniversary night.
14) Vote for and elect by written ballot a mason of the year. This election will take place 2 meetings prior to awards night.  A certificate will be presented on awards night.
15) Elected officers will attend a Masonic educational training program.
16) All officers, elected and appointed, are present at open installation.
17) Continue scholarship program.
18) Invite mayor, police chief and fire chief to speak and present them with a certificate of appreciation for service to the community.
19) Continue the food drive.
20) Continue cell phone donations to the sheriff's office.
21) Observe Saint John the Baptist Day (June 24th) by attending church services as a group on that day or the nearest Sunday.
22) Observe Saint John the Evangelist Day (December 27th) by having open installation on that day.
23) Master and wardens attend grand lodge. All others encouraged attending also.
24) Continue the widows outreach program.
25) Hold education nights for the Shrine, Scottish rite, and the York Rite.
26) Visit the Masonic Home.
27) Volunteer to man the Kentucky State Fair Masonic booth one day.
28) Hold degree work with other lodges.
29) Visit at least 3 other lodges outside our district with at least 6members.
30) Visit all lodges within our district.
31) Retrieve the traveling gavel at least twice.
32) Attend Shriner's Hospital Day with at least 4 officers.
33) Establish and maintain a web site.
