Craftsmen,
As we come to the end of the first quarter of 2011 I would like to restate my commitment to the endeavors of the Past Masters. There are several programs which continue to need attention. Specifically I would like to expand our Widow’s Program, solidify our Legend Team and expand our fundraising. These things are all agreed upon and sound good on paper but require more than just desire and good intentions, they require commitment.
It is my personal desire to see this lodge thrive. For the lodge to thrive it must grow and for it to grow requires some work. Future leadership must be groomed rather than thrust into place. We need to set an example for our new members, not just in words but in deed. This means show up for practices, help the new guys get involved and learn their parts, give a hand during fundraisers, make some calls, be a friend, be a mentor.
We have many opportunities to put a good face on Masonry and become a positive force in our community; the lodge is the vehicle for that force. Together we can help each other be successful in all of our endeavors.
In my opinion, lodge meetings are for conducting the business of the lodge and setting its course. I will always make an effort to get through the business, do the best ritual we can and get home.
The actual work of Freemasonry occurs outside the lodge. Visiting the sick and distressed, raising money for the causes we feel strongly about, perfecting our ritual; visiting, helping and supporting other lodges and affiliated organizations, supporting our Masonic homes, these are examples of Masonry in action. These are things that I’m happy to help organize but we ALL must commit to doing in some form or another.
Simply put, Sirkle Lodge is a reflection of YOUR values and YOUR commitment. I appreciate the confidence you have shown by electing me Worshipful Master. I will do my best to live up to the responsibilities of the office.
I believe we have the best lodge in the state; we have so much talent, so much passion, and so much potential, let’s show off!
Sincerely and fraternally,
Joe Uliasz
