Brothers,
I can’t believe we are into the second quarter of 2010. We continue to deliver on our goals for 2010. Our widows program has been established and has brought relief in a number of ways to our widows. Our ritual work continues to improve, and I look forward to the work in the future. Our education programs have led to several good discussions. Our fundraising efforts are in full swing.
We have several key dates coming up. The annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for August 21st. The brochures should be ready by April 20. We will be providing the meal for the August 28th District 20 outdoor degree at Elmendorf.
While sitting in Church Easter Sunday my attention was drawn to one of the many beautiful stained glass windows around the perimeter of the sanctuary. Faith, Hope, Charity is inscribed in the center of this window. As I studied the window, I thought of the meaning of those words. What do they mean to me during Holy Week? What do the mean to me any week? I attend Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington, which is located on the grounds where the first Grand Lodge of Kentucky was formed. Upon entering the church every Sunday we pass a plaque commemorating the founding of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky. I thought of the tenants of our profession, and the obligations we as Masons have subjected ourselves to follow. What does it mean to you? I challenge all brothers to continue to grow in their faith. Become a mentor to a child, bring hope to a widow, and provide relief to those less fortunate.
It is an honor to be the Master of Robert M. Sirkle Lodge.
Fraternally,
Jason
